10 Amazing Posts on Monday Night's Supermoon
Did you see it?
(SPOT.ph) The Philippines enjoyed the rare sighting of the "supermoon" on the evening of November 14. Not to be mistaken for a superhero nor a Sailormoon, the supermoon is named as such for its larger than usual size. It is not only the biggest and brightest, but also the closest full moon since 1948. In astronomy, the event is called a perigee full moon and happens "when the moon becomes full on the same day when it reaches perigee, the point when the moon is closest to the Earth," according to the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Though there'll be another supermoon on December 14, it won't be as bright than the one seen last night. This amazing and once-in-a-lifetime experience was shared by many and immortalized through social media (of course!). We round up the 10 Instagram posts from all over the world that caught our attention.
