Coming soon: NAIA Terminal 3 pedestrian bridge
No more U-turns!
(SPOT.ph) Newport City, including its entertainment center Resorts World Manila, is just across Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Reaching it can take over an hour because of the ridiculous traffic just going out of the airport and having to ply the congested stretch of Andrews Avenue just to find the next U-turn slot. This hellish scenario can be a thing of the past by early 2017.
A pedestrian bridge connecting the two tourism hotspots is expected to be completed by the first half of 2017. The link is enclosed and air-conditioned, a huge plus considering the air pollution in the Metro. It also has walkalators and elevators, a welcome convenience especially if you’re lugging around travel bags and huge balikbayan boxes.
The bridge is part of the efforts to ease the traffic situation in the area. By just crossing the street, you can reach Newport City where there are other transportation alternatives such as the Citylink buses and car-sharing services. There's also the option of enjoying the comforts of nearby hotels as soon as you arrive from the airport instead of spending hours on the road while nursing a jet lag.
