These 10 universities are producing the best new hires, according to JobStreet

See how your school fared in their latest ranking.

It may seem ridiculous to think of a college degree simply as a financial investment. But with the cost of tuition fees only increasing rapidly, it seems more practical to consider the financial returns a specific school can yield for graduates along with its academic standing.

JobStreet Philippines, one of the leading Internet recruitment websites in the Asia-Pacific, recently released a report that takes a look at which alma maters employers usually source their new hires from. Based on their collected data, the survey results show various employers' perceptions of which local universities produced the best fresh graduates or new hires.

The survey was conducted from the last quarter of 2016 until February 2017, with the information coming from combined data on unique job postings on and the responses of 644 companies.

Below is an infographic that shows the top 10 main sources of future employees of different companies that participated in the study.

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines still topped the survey, with 56% of employers preferring graduates from the said university. Coming in second is the University of the Philippines with 46%, and in third is the University of Santo Tomas with 44%.

Other schools from the top 10 are De La Salle University, Ateneo De Manila University, Far Eastern University, Technological Institute of the Philippines, Pamantasan Lungsod ng Maynila, University of the East, and Adamson University.

"More than any time in recent history, the changes in attitude and preferences in employment have become rapid and constant," JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip A. Gioca said.

He added, "Job seekers should equip themselves with further knowledge should they want a distinct advantage in this highly competitive field."

In hiring fresh graduates, he stated that employers considered attitude, field of study, and salary as basis for their hiring.
