Explore the Metro With Free LRT and MRT Rides on Independence Day
But during specific times only.
(SPOT.ph) The country is celebrating 120 years of Philippine independence in 2018, and to mark the momentous occassion, the Department of Transportation announced that commuters can ride Manila's three main railway lines—the LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3—for free on Independence Day, June 12. The free rides are available at certain times: From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This isn't the first time the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has offered free train rides—earlier this year, the DOTr offered free rides on the Philippine National Railways train, the LRT-1, and the MRT-3, on Labor Day.
