Heads Up: COMELEC Voter Registration Begins This July
It's not too early to prepare for the 2019 National Elections.
(SPOT.ph) Whatever you may think of the way the current administration is running things, it cannot be denied that it is the Filipino people who elected them in their positions. Now, get ready to once again harness the power of democracy—the Commission on Elections announced today, June 21 that voter registration will resume this coming July 2 until September 29. The registration period will be for the upcoming national and local midterm elections on May 13, 2019.
Those who wish to register must personally file their applications at their local Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Monday to Saturday. The COMELEC registration period will cater to those seeking to apply for new registration, transfer, reactivation, correction of data, and reinstatement in the list of voters.
By July 2, COMELEC offices nationwide will begin to process voter registrations, except for the one in Marawi, Lanao del Sur due to the current situation in the area. Additionally, COMELEC will be conducting satellite registration, although a list of sites have yet to be announced.
While the election period is still more than a year away, it may be a good idea to beat the crazy lines and secure your slot in determining our country's future in advance.
