Screenshot from LTO website(SPOT.ph) The Land Transportation Office hasfinally begun releasing the license plates of vehicles registered from July to October 2016, to the relief of those who have been waiting for years. However, there are stillaround 8 million license plates that have yet to be released to their owners. To make the waiting game a little bit more bearable, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) now allows you to check on the processing status of your license plate online! Simply visit their website, enter your vehicle's motor vehicle registration number, and check whether or notyour license plate isready for release. If your plate is ready for pickup, the website will provide you with details on where and when you can pick it up, as well as the documents you'd need to bring uponclaiming (such as your vehicle's official receipt). Although the details of all license plates registered from July 2016 onwards will soon be upon the database, currently only the status of the plates for vehicles registered in July and August 2016 have been uploaded. There is still no word about the processingofplates for cars registered prior to July 2016, as itwill bedependent on the Commission of Audit. As the LTO website's plate search functionality is pretty new, the site is still experiencing early technical difficulties. The website might have some trouble loading in iOS devices. You can check on the status of your vehicle license plate on the Land Transporation Office's website.
