You Can Help Save the Pasig River Through Your Stories
They're looking for entertaining and inspiring stories about the river.
(SPOT.ph) If you've been living in the Metro in the past few years, you might have a story that involves the Pasig River at some point. Now is the time to recall those memories—the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission is urging the public to share their personal stories about the river as part of their rehabilitation efforts to save the waterway.
The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) will be posting unique stories submitted by the public about the river on theriverman.org, a website dedicated to raise awareness and provide sources to help save the Pasig River. According to PRRC Executive Director Jose Antonio Goitia, this project aims to educate the public on the Pasig River's value and inspire them to take part in the efforts to revive it.
Some people have already started sharing their own Pasig River stories on the PRRC Facebook page, with tales about an ROTC river cleanup and even a crocodile found on the riverbanks during its heyday:
You may e-mail your Pasig River anecdotes to firstname.lastname@example.org.
