MMDA Officially Begins EDSA's Provincial Bus Ban Next Week
Hopefully, this leads to a more stress-free commute.
(SPOT.ph) There's currently no word on when EDSA's reported single-passenger vehicle ban will be enforced, but expect another less-controversial traffic measure to be implemented next week. The Metro Manila Development Authority announced that effective August 15, provincial buses will be banned from using EDSA during rush hour. The ban applies on weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Jojo Garcia clarified that provincial buses will be banned only from the stretch of EDSA from Cubao to Pasay. Violators of the provincial bus ban will be fined P2,000.
This policy, along with the aforementioned single-passenger vehicle ban, is part of the MMDA's long-term plan to decongest traffic in the Metro. Here's hoping that its enforcement will result in less time stuck in traffic and a more stress-free commute.
