Here's How You Can Avoid Heavy Traffic in San Juan Tomorrow
Roads will be closed for the Araw ng Pinaglabanan festivities.
(SPOT.ph) Every August 30, the city of San Juan celebrates Araw ng Pinaglabanan in commemoration of the 1896 Battle of Pinaglabanan, which is considered as "the beginning of the armed revolutionary movement against Spanish colonialism in the Philippines." In observance of the holiday this year, San Juan City released a traffic advisory for tomorrow, August 30, as some roads will be blocked off to motorists to make way for the Pinaglabanan Day's Grand Socio-Civic Parade. Road closures will take place from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Motorists are asked to take note of the following road closures in San Juan:
- Pinaglabanan Street, from the corner of Jose Gil Street to the corner of N. Domingo Street
- The entire stretch of N. Domingo Street, bound to Cubao
- All secondary streets along Pinaglabanan Street, such as: Ejercito Street, P. Narciso Street, Mnsr. Alvarez Street, Pancho Villa Street, Atty. Mendoza Street, and Paraiso Street
San Juan City also released an alternate route for light vehicles. From Ortigas Avenue bound to Manila, turn left at Santolan Road, turn right at M. Paterno Street, turn left to N. Domingo Street, turn right at De Leon Street, turn right at Lourdes Drive, and then right at Aurora Boulevard or Araneta Avenue to your destination.
