Seniors Can Ride the MRT-3 and LRT-2 for Free Next Week

In celebration of Elderly Filipino Week.

(SPOT.ph) The Metro's train systems have been known to give out free rides every now and then, having previously done so for blood donors and to commemorate Independence Day. Now, in observance of Elderly Filipino Week, the Department of Transportation announced that all Filipino senior citizens can enjoy free rides on the MRT-3 and LRT-2 for an entire week, from October 1 to 7. Free MRT-3 rides will be offerred from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., while the free LRT-2 rides will be available to seniors from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

To avail of their free rides, senior citizens may present their valid Seniors' ID issued by the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs, or any ID that shows their date of birth.
