(SPOT.ph) Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, on October 10, posted on Facebook that he is "happy to see progress in the C5 Southlink Project which shall connect major business districts in Makati and Taguig to Cavite, Parañaque, and Las Piñas." Ironically, this means only one thing—worse traffic buildup in major thoroughfares in the south of the Metro. San Miguel Corporation, which operates the South Luzon Expressway and Skyway, is implementing a stop-and-go scheme along the two highways to give way to the construction.

The new traffic scheme, which started on October 6, runs from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. at Nichols Toll Plaza, C5 (at-grade intersections), and Skyway Elevated segment between Magallanes and Bicutan. It is in effect until November 15.
San Miguel Corporation advises motorists to take other routes.
this strange new world.
