(SPOT.ph) Pride Month may have ended six months ago; but for members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community in Quezon City, it's important to celebrate Pride whatever month it may be. Through the collaboration of the Quezon City Local Government and Quezon City Pride Council, the north of the Metro is holding its annual Quezon City Pride March on December 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The parade starts in front of Hotel Rembrandt along Tomas Morato Avenue.

The Quezon City Pride Council was created in 2013 to monitor and implement the city's anti-discrimination ordinance and integrate the LGBTQIA+ community in the local government's programs. In 2017, the city's 142 barangays were ordered to create their own pride council, tasked with making sure that all gender-related policies are enforced in the barangay level. This is the fourth time that Quezon City is holding its own Pride March in December, separate from the annual Metro Manila Pride March held every June. The month of December also holds other key dates in the LGBTQIA+ calendar: World AIDS Day (December 1), National Lesbian Day (December 8), and International Human Rights Day (December 10).
The Quezon City Pride March is on December 8 along Tomas Morato Avenue in Quezon City. For more information, follow QC PRIDE MARCH on Facebook.
