Commuters, You Can Ride the MRT for Free on Rizal Day

You can even ride all you want at these hours!

( It truly is a time for celebration, especially for commuters who plan on going out on Sunday. In a post on their Facebook page, the MRT-3 management announced that they will be giving free rides on December 30, which marks the 122nd death anniversary of Jose Rizal. The free rides will be available from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The MRT-3 traverses around 16 kilometers of EDSA, with 13 stations starting from North Avenue and ending in Taft Avenue. Note that the train service will also be running on December 31 and January 1, 2019, although shortened operating hours will be observed for both dates.

As of writing, no announcements about free rides has been made for the LRT-1 and LRT-2 lines, which are also known for giving passengers free rides on Rizal Day in the past.
