Yay or Nay: FB Messenger Goes Bigger and Bolder With New Update

And by bigger and bolder, we mean it quite literally.

(SPOT.ph) With so many people relying on Facebook and its messaging application, it's not surprising to see quite a lot of people complaining about its recent design update. Twitter users who have auto-updates turned on woke up to Messenger's new look, which makes its features look a little too big on some devices.

Facebook chats on desktop also got the makeover. Tabs look bigger when minimized, with rounded corners that might take users by surprise at first. You can also avoid misclicking the name now when you're closing a chat head as the "x" has been moved so that it sticks out a little past the upper right corner.

Other features of the revamped desktop Messenger include the option to add gradient colors for chats, which was introduced on mobile in October 2018.

The update only seems to have rolled out on a few select devices, but it looks to be affecting iOS users the most, along with a few Android users sporting the latest operating system.

While some people are calling Facebook out and asking for it to be changed back to the design we're all familiar with, it looks like the update is here to stay. In a statement posted October 2018,  Facebook said that the new Messenger will "gradually roll out globally over the coming weeks," so it might be wise to expect even more updates to come soon.
