Veterans Ride for Free on the LRT-2 Next Week

A personal companion can also get a free ride!

(SPOT.ph) The Philippines' freedom is a hard-fought one—and to honor those who bravely fought for the country, the LRT-2 is offering free rides to World War II veterans between 4:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. from April 5 to 11. This is in observance of Philippine Veterans Week and Day of Valor on April 9. Filipino veterans can simply present a valid I.D. issued by the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office to avail unlimited free rides. One personal companion can also ride with them for free.

Philippine Veterans Week is an annual seven-day commemoration of the heroism of Filipino soldiers during World War II. It started in 1989 by virtue of Proclamation No. 466 signed by former President Corazon C. Aquino. April 9, otherwise known as the Day of Valor (or Araw ng Kagitingan), is a regular holiday.
