(SPOT.ph) The much-awaited Manila International Book Fair may still be a few weeks away, but you can already do some pre-game shopping during Bellas Artes Outpost's Book Swap and Sale on August 31, 2 p.m. at Bellas Artes Outpost (BAP) in Makati City. Just bring one or two pre-loved books that you're ready to exchange for another title from a fellow book lover.
Aside from getting free books, you can also browse BAP's huge selection of art books that range from architecture to photography. You can also buy from participating  independent bookshops like Books from Underground, artbooks.ph, Kwago Book Bar, and BookPanes, which carry rare titles, books by Filipino authors, chapbooks and zines, and other releases by small presses.
BAP is also hosting a live art performance by Judy Freya Sibayan from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Titled Human Archive, the artist will facilitate dialogues on archiving and exchanging stories to establish human connections. Meanwhile, the group behind Ang Sabi Nila, a monthly series of poetry nights held in different spaces in the Metro, is holding a poetry workshop from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
