Men In Veils, a Crying Smiley, That Italian Hand Gesture: 2020's New Emojis Are Looking Real Good
The milk tea with boba one is definitely going to be our most used emoji.
(SPOT.ph) So much went down in January alone that we're pretty sure you wish 2020 was already over—but here's one thing to look forward to as we commence our slow crawl through the next 11 months. The new lineup of emojis approved for 2020 by the Unicode Consortium is looking pretty darn cool. There are 117 new emojis scheduled for release in the second half of 2020, including more gender-inclusive options (with 55 gender and skin-tone variants), extinct animals, and smileys with the biggest moods.
Emojipedia has released images of what the new emojis could look like, though the consortium notes that the final design and release dates will be up to the vendors (read: Android, Apple). Take a look at some of the best ones we've seen:

This is 100% going to be the most overused emoji from this batch—and we're not complaining.
This captures an emotion we're not quite sure has a name yet.
We didn't even know we wanted this emoji.
This has got to be the most adorable emoji out of this batch.
Yeah, thanks but no thanks.
In case you needed to remember what the dodo bird looked like!
For an anatomically correct V-Day greeting!
A symbol we can all get behind.
Virtual hugs just got so much better.
