Heads Up, Motorists: Here's the Traffic Advisory for EDSA Today
And yup, the number coding is lifted, says MMDA!
(SPOT.ph) Today, February 25, 2020, marks the 34th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution that overthrew the Marcos regime. Celebrations will be held at the People Power Monument at the corner of EDSA and White Plains Avenue in Quezon City, so you may want to take note of the traffic advisory released by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. The two outer lanes of EDSA—nearest the monument—and the westbound lanes of White Plains Avenue will be closed to traffic, while the eastbound lanes of White Plains will be made into a two-way path for motorists.
The agency has advised motorists to avoid the area in general, though no time has been announced for when the closure will start and when it will end. Those heading north may cross through Ortigas Avenue and pass through C-5 to get to their destination while those heading south may turn right at Gilmore Avenue and use Ortigas Avenue to get back on EDSA.
Number coding for motorists has also been lifted in honor of today's celebrations, so no worries if your plate number ends with either three or four.
