Take a step into Roel's Bookshop in this video.
(SPOT.ph) Bibliophile or not, we're sure the magic of a quiet bookshop does wonders for your soul. We're all looking for a bit of quiet in the midst of the Metro's noise. Roel's Bookshop is a hidden little nook along Maginhawa street in Quezon City that offers exactly that—as well with cool literary finds in the form of rare books, antique editions, and a wide array of genres. Take a step into Roel's Bookshop through the video below!
What started as an online store on Multiply in 2009 officially became a brick-and-mortar shop in October 2018. Behind the shop stocked full of books is the Abaya family: Roel and his wife Elizabeth, plus their son Roie. Roel works in California, where he hunts down all the reads, and sends them over to the Philippines, where Elizabeth and Roie are in charge of the shop's daily needs.
It's been more than a decade, but the Abayas have not stopped curating all kinds of books and hunting down rare finds for their customers, as well as helping others get over their fear of the academic ivory tower. Roel's Bookshop is more than just unassuming hole-in-the-wall store—check the place out next time you're looking for a specific read or a bit of respite.
