UPDATED: Power Interruptions in Metro Manila Have Been Postponed

Meralco defers scheduled interruptions meant to start tomorrow.

(SPOT.ph) Power interruptions in Metro Manila scheduled to start tomorrow have been postponed by Meralco. Instead, the power company will sustain uninterrupted service during the entire period of the Metro Manila "community quarantine." The company has deferred the power interruption schedule "except for those deemed as critically loaded areas, as approved by the Department of Energy," they said in a statement.

Earlier, the power company announced interruptions in areas of several Metro Manila cities—as listed below—from March 17 to 22. "During these challenging times, Meralco will continue working with the energy sector so as to ensure that electric power services remain uninterrupted," said Ronnie L. Aperocho, Meralco's first vice president.
