ICYMI: UP-PGH Sets Up COVID-19 Hotline
It operates 24/7.
(SPOT.ph) As COVID-19 cases in the Philippines continue to go up, our hospitals are reaching full capacity and more health workers are being asked for their service. The University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital, for their part, launched a 24/7 hotline number dedicated for the COVID-19 Bayanihan Operations Center: 155200.
If you think you have COVID-19 symptoms (i.e. high fever, dry cough, and body soreness), you can call the hotline and talk to a volunteer from the University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) for a consult. This manages the influx of patients in the emergency rooms, especially since the government hospital is now operating as COVID-19 referral center. This means that they're only accepting COVID-19 positive patients (tested and proven to have the virus), while patients who are still under investigation or under monitoring will be referred to other hospitals.
"Upang magsilbing sentro na tagapag-ugnay ng ating sama-samang pagkilos, inilulunsad po natin ngayong umaga ang UP-PGH COVID-19 [Bayanihan] Operations Center," UP president Atty. Danilo Concepcion said during the inauguration of the project on March 30.
The COVID-19 Bayanihan Operations Center can handle up to 20 simultaneous calls. It is stationed at the UP-PGH Nurses' Home in Manila. Volunteers and donors can also can in touch with the number for any COVID-19-related query.
