(SPOT.ph) Motorcycle-based ride-sharing and delivery service Angkas is stepping up the game with free rides for healthcare workers! The motorcycle-taxi service will be rolling out this program starting August 8 until the MECQ in Metro Manila is scheduled to end on August 18.
They posted the announcement on their social media pages, saying "mag-iingat po kami like always," on Twitter. Angkas will be coordinating directly with hospitals based on recommendations from the Department of Health to find out which ones need the free service most. A few hospitals have been picked but they will be expanding as the program goes on.
Healthcare workers from the chosen hospitals will have to bring their own helmets with full-faced visors for the free rides. Angkas also noted on Facebook that they're open to coordinating with other medical facilities in need of the service for their health care workers.Â
Back-riding on motorcycles has been allowed under the modified ECQ provided that the passenger is authorized to be outside (i.e. a medical frontliner). With transport options limited, this is sure to be one less thing our healthcare workers will have to think about!
