The Twitterverse Isn't Reacting Well to News of Bong Revilla's Hospitalization
Even "Auntie Julie" had something to say.
(SPOT.ph) The Internet can be pretty harsh. Just check out the reponse to news that Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. is currently in the hospital for COVID-19. His wife, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado took to Facebook on August 18 to offer up a prayer after Revilla was "rushed to the hospital" due to X-rays showing he had pneumonia. The senator himself later went on Facebook live while in a hospital bed to ask for support.
While the sickness is no laughing matter, people online were reminded about a lot of other things regarding the Revillas due to the recent developments. One thing a lot of people referenced was the money from his plunder case in relation to the Pork Barrel Scam—for which he was acquitted of charges, but also ordered to pay P124.5 million in civil liability (something that his camp says he is not "civilly liable to return").Â
A lot of people responded with messages to "stay positive" and mentions of an agimat were floated too. We round up some of the shadiest replies we saw on Twitter below:
Do you know who Auntie Julie is yet?

What do you think?
We’re praying na ibalik mo yung P124.5 M na kinulimbat mo. Until then, stay positive.

Oof.
Francisco Duque, hindi ako karapat-dapat na magpatuloy sa iyo, ngunit sa isang salita mo lamang ay gagaling na ako.

We don't recall learning this prayer in school.
