Metro Manila allows 24/7 food delivery amid curfew
Metro Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia announced that mayors in Metro Manila agreed to allow take-out and food delivery services beyond curfew hours (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.). On August 19, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno signed an executive order that lets restaurants operate after 8 p.m.
Displaced jeepney drivers join Makati's education campaign
In an effort to help jeepney drivers that lost their livelihood amid the pandemic, the Makati City government is set to transform the jeepneys into "Makati Mobile Learning Hubs" in time for the start of classes on October. Jeepney drivers (and their jeepneys) will be hired at P2,000 a day with at least 100 drivers a week on rotation.
Google confirms service disruption
Internet users on Thursday freaked out after a number of users all over the world experienced glitches on Google services like Gmail and Google Drive for a few hours. The issue was acknowledged by the tech giant, with their Twitter account replying to complaints: "We are aware of a service disruption at the moment." The different apps on their G Suite Status Dashboard were also tagged with the status "Service disruption."
Binondo establishment uses "Manila Province, P.R. China" address
Located in Binondo, Manila, Elegant Fumes Beauty Products Inc. was found to sell products labeled with the address "1st Floor. 707 Sto Cristo Street, San Nicolas, Manila Province, P.R. China." Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ordered the shutdown of said establishment. Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta Party-list Rep. Jericho Nograles, on the other hand, wants the manufacturer and importer be blacklisted.
Olivia Wilde to reportedly direct female-centered Marvel movie
According to a report by Deadline, director-actress Olivia Wilde is set to direct a female-centric Marvel film, which is possibly about Spider-Woman. Sony has yet to comment on the report.
