Attack of the Facebook Avatars
Plus, of course, how to make your own.
(SPOT.ph) Facebook’s Avatar feature seems to have caught everyone’s fancy last night, with people posting cartoon-like versions of themselves left and right. The feature is a lot like Apple’s Memoji: you can create one based on how you’d like your avatar to look, whether it’ll end up actually looking like you or not. All you need to do is open the menu in the top right corner of the Facebook app—make sure you have the latest version—tap on “See More”, and then click on “Avatar.” It’ll take you through the step-by-step process of creating your mini-me, from skin tone to eye shape. Once done, you can use the avatar as a profile photo or as a sticker to add some pop to your comments. You can also share it on your News Feed, which is exactly what most Pinoy Facebook users did after discovering the feature.
"Puro Avatar" indeed.
"Puro Avatar" started trending on Twitter, natch, and tweets are divided between those who are having fun with the trend and those who are already over it. Check out the mixed bag of Twitter reactions below:
Some weren't too amused that Facebook is "Puro Avatar":
Are you one of them?
Set your alarm!
Yup, not that Avatar.
Okay, talk to the poster above.
Or you know, channel your energy into something else.
Others thought the Avatars were a welcome distraction:
A call from Tarantadong Kalbo.
Channeling the energy, we suppose?
We cope in our own ways.
We spotted a lot of cute Avatars, ourselves. Here are our faves:
Love the cat ears!
Attitude is everything.
We feel you.
Brb, making one like this.
