Attention, Bookworms: This Regional Book Fair Is Going Online
Plus, you can attend literary talks by Filipino authors.

(SPOT.ph) Pre-pandemic, book fairs are faced with the limitation of their location, schedule, and the crowd's patience to deal with long lines. But now that everything's happening online, book lovers everywhere can participate in literary talks and book sales happening in another island. This includes the Iloilo Mega Book Fair 2020, which is scheduled from November 12 to 15. Talks will be streamed through Zoom while selling will be done through Lazada.
The Iloilo Mega Book Fair was first launched in 2018 through the initiative of Hubon Manunulat, Book Latte, and Kasingkasing Press. It aims to gather West Visayan scholars in the academe and creative industry, to promote West Visayan culture through seminars, and to champion pieces by local and indie publishers in the country.
This year's theme, “A City Built on Books,” highlights the role of literature in the time of a global pandemic. Anyone can attend the webinars as long as you register online through their Google form. Zoom slots are limited to 300 attendees.
Iloilo Mega Book Fair 2020 is from November 12 to 15. For updates, follow their event page on Facebook.
