Car Sales Strong for Suzuki PH With Record-Breaking Market Share

The Japanese car brand launched its latest, the S-Presso, in 2020.

(SPOT.ph) Japanese car manufacturer Suzuki reported its best ever sales ranking in the Philippines for 2020, with a market share of 6.3%. The car brand had a 5.83% market share in 2019, after gaining a 21.17% increase in sales, according to Top Gear Philippines.

“Last year posed [an] unexpected turnout of events across different industries, and we are humbled to have been able to thrive and achieve new landmark events including ground breaking ceremonies for dealerships,” said Vice President and General Manager for Automobile Division, Keiichi Suzuki, in a statement. Their dealerships in Marikina and Clark were launched in 2020.

Among Suzuki’s best-selling cars are the Ertiga, the Carry, and the S-Presso, which rank as the brand’s top three respectively. The Ertiga is a mini MPV that seats seven and boasts a 24% share of Suzuki’s sales; the Carry is a utility van that was designed with 40 years’ worth of the Japanese automaker’s background in making compact trucks, and the S-Presso is a compact hatchback that’s “ideal for both city driving and adventure seeking days.”

Suzuki made good use of the digital space in 2020, launching services like online test-drive bookings, virtual showrooms, and online auto loan applications. They also hosted their biggest annual event, the Suzuki Auto Fest, online. Interested car buyers can get a Suzuki at a low-downpayment promo price until the end of January with their All Out Blowout.
