When typhoon Odette cut power lines and damaged internet connections here in Cebu, those whose livelihoods relied on being online flocked to coworking spaces to clock in for work. These coworking spaces brought together a community of digital nomads who do what they can to stay on their feet. Here are 10 coworking spaces across Metro Cebu for you to check out.

Formerly known as ASPACE, From Here is a melting pot for creatives. This pet-friendly space gives members and non-members alike space to create and collaborate at their functions rooms and  studio, which is also big enough to host an event. The colorful paintings on the walls keep the place light and fun, even on dreary Mondays. If you want to go on a brain break, artisanal coffee shops like Abaca or Commonly Uncommon are just right next door. But you can also opt to grab a cup of joe in From Here’s pantry if you’re in a hurry. Their day passes are P400 while their dedicated seating costs P8,500/month.

They have a typical office setup where you can lease a seat for P5,000 a month and bring your own gear. If you want to use their equipment, you can lease the seat for P6,000/month. This coworking space is also perfect for those in big groups as they offer discounted rates.Grab each slot at P4,000/month if you lease at least 10 seats. Due to the damage caused by typhoon Odette, Cocoon EcoCoworking Space was forced to operate temporarily in another location but that didn’t stop them from helping out the community. Bar exam takers can use their space to study for free, as long as you reserve a seat ahead of time. Cocoon’s shared workspaces have all the basic necessities of a coworking space, and it even has a balcony where you can get some fresh air when work gets overwhelming. A little birdie told us that they’re booked until February so reserve a seat as soon as you can! Their rates start at P35 per hour with one complimentary drink.

If you’re the type who needs to munch on something to get your brain working, then Brews&Crafts is the place to be. Their menu is pretty extensive for a coworking space. They offer small bites like Four Cheese Croquettas (P135) and Chicken Fingers (P135) as well as sandwiches, pasta, and all-day Filipino and intercontinenatal breakfast meals that start at P130. While you have to be a member of City Sports Club or endorsed by one to use the coworking space, you still get your money’s worth because it’s not only quiet but it’s spacious as well. The coworking space is big enough to maintain social distancing, and it has a bunch of individual desk spaces. Rates start at P150 for two hours for members and P250 for non-members. All rates have a corresponding consumable amount for food and beverage. a2a has its own pantry with a chef, and the menu has a variety of refreshments to keep you alert. They have Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (P60),  Nachos Plate (P160), and free-flowing coffee. The coworking space is equipped with Biozone air purifiers to ensure that you are working in a clean and safe space.
