Here's Another Option For Your Instant Delivery Needs
You can use your GCash or PayMaya to pay for delivery.
(SPOT.ph) With most of us staying home during the pandemic (that started way back in 2020, we just have to acknowledge) same-day delivery services have become essential in transporting our packages—whether food or gifts—from Point A to Point B instantly. We rely on Grab, Lalamove, Mr. Speedy, and other mobile apps. Wondering what else is out there? You can also try Amigo, which was launched in March 2021.
"The business came about in December 2019 when we wanted a brand that can help both entrepreneurs and riders. We then fast tracked the planning in 2020 when the global health crisis [loomed] in front of everyone. Everything stopped, was put on pause, and uncertain," Andrew Guevarra, Marketing and Corporate Communications of Amigo, tells SPOT.ph.
When individuals got hit by the pay cut and turned into online entrepreneurs, consumers were forced to stay home, and some breadwinners had to look for new jobs, Amigo saw it as an opportunity to provide not only a delivery service but also a possible income-generator for rider partners.
"Unlike existing on-demand services that focus on the average consumer, we built a service from the ground up to cater to the very different needs of a business. We understand that merchants with multiple bookings per day have very different logistical requirements versus the average consumer from one to three bookings per week—hence, the solution for these needs to be different as well," Guevarra adds.
Riders are given free Amigo gears (insulated box, Amigo uniform, raincoat, and wallet top-up), free life and medical insurance up to P50,000, and discounted rates from motorcycle retail and gasoline partners. They're also given daily, weekly, and monthly incentives based on delivery performance.
"Ultimately, we see riders as the face of Amigo. Keeping our riders happy and satisfied ensures us better service when they perform the delivery for our merchants and the merchants’ customers."
