Four of the 15 close contacts of the woman who breached quarantine to party in Makati's hip Poblacion district tested positive for the coronavirus and are undergoing isolation, the Department of Health said Monday.
The Department of Tourism identified the woman as Gwyneth Anne Chua in a letter to Berjaya Hotel asking its management to explain the incident. "Gwyneth Chua" was trending on Twitter with more than 21,000 mentions as of Monday morning.
"Apat po doon sa 15 identified close contacts tested positive and are currently undergoing isolation in their respective homes," Health Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire told reporters.
Chua is now asymptomatic, she said.
Vergeire urged those who were in close contact with the woman to isolate and monitor themselves for symptoms.
Those who have mild symptoms should call their local government unit for assistance instead of visiting the nearest hospital to help decongest hospitals, she said.
