Top 5 Cheap 'N' Chic Haircuts Under P500
Due to insistent public demand, Spot.ph lists the best hair salons for the budget-conscious.
Due to insistent public demand, Spot.ph scoured the city's value-for-money salons with a fine-tooth comb to come up with this wallet-friendly list. We asked Cosmo beauty editor Nicole de los Angeles for her tried-and-tested picks:
1. Azta Urban Salon
Address: 2/F Metrowalk Commercial Complex, Meralco Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
Operating Hours: 10 a.m. to p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
Go For: A haircut by Rose, P450
Why We Liked It: Whether you have long hair or short hair, Rose is able to deliver a posh, easy-to-maintain cut that suits your lifestyle. She's not intimidating to talk to and listens to your input about the kind of 'do you had in mind. Another budget bonus: If you need to have your bangs trimmed, there's no need to shell out on the regular price of a cut. It'll only cost you P120 to have your fringe retouched.
What Else To Try: If you're attending a wedding or just want to look extra pretty for a girl's night out, a Shampoo & Blowdry only costs P200 to 260.
2. Bench Fix Lab
Address: G/F Glorietta 4, Ayala Center, Makati City.
Operating Hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Go For: Make an appointment to get a cut from Paolo, P500
Why We Liked It: You and your guy can actually share a stylist! If you want a chic bob or face-framing layers, you won't go wrong here. For men, Paolo can give you an über hip hairstyle without making you seem like a hardcore metrosexual–unless you want it that way. We really liked how he's able to reduce the volume of super thick hair so that it looks volumized–not buhaghag.
What Else To Try: Got extra cash? Splurge on a Kérastase Treatment. It comes with a free hair and scalp analysis beforehand to decipher what kind of treatment your hair needs and a hot stone massage for your arms and legs while you wait for the product to be absorbed by your strands.
3. Regine's Salon
Address: 2/F The Link Building, North Drive corner Makati Avenue, Makati City.
Operating Hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Monday to Saturday) and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Sunday)
Go For: A haircut by Karina, P450
Why We Liked It: Cuts by Karina start with a face-shape analysis. So, if you're in the mood for a makeover, head here to get the lowdown on the different styles that'll suit your face. We like how she patiently explains what cut she plans on doing and executes it accordingly, so you're not surprised by the outcome. Her specialty: Edgy cuts and fasyon bobs.
What Else To Try: Treat your feet to some primo pampering with the Deluxe Pedicure package, P450. Here, you can choose either a foot spa or foot paraffin treatment to go with your pedi.
4. Runway by Aura Salon
Address: 2/H Capitol Greenstreet, Capitol Golf Club, Capitol Hills Drive, Quezon City.
Operating Hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Go For: A haircut by Jeng, P370, or Jayson, P300
Why We Liked It: If you're a bit on the conservative side and find it hard to trust new stylists, this is the place for you. The salon boasts of Malaysian-trained stylists who are experts at giving you the kind of cut you're looking for. If your suki stylist suddenly disappears on you, don't panic. Jeng is more than capable of replicating the look you want.
What Else To Try: For men who want to camouflage a few gray hairs, head here to color your strands (full color starts at P1,500). We like how the final look stylist Jayson colored appeared soft, natural and healthy–not O.A. black.
5. Antonio Hairdressing
Address: 35 E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue, Libis, Quezon City
Operating Hours: 9am to 9pm
Go For: A haircut by Arlene, P450
Why We Liked It: Arlene can make a normal hairstyle stand out once her scissors get a hold of your locks. We like how she can balance edgy and wearable cuts very well, so you'll look super fab without seeming like you're trying too hard. If you're unsure of what style you want, try bringing pegs of styles you like from magazines. She'll can use it as a starting point, so you both can find the perfect 'do that'll take you to the next level of gorgeous.
What Else To Try: If you've been abusing your locks with constant color or blow drying, try a Matrix Hair Treatment, which starts at P1,000. It'll bring life back to dry, damaged strands so they feel softer and look smoother. Plus, it comes with a relaxing chair massage, too!
