20 Fashionalista Finds
SPOT.ph reveals 20 brands worthy of fashionalista fame and lots of Pinoy Pride presents this season.
The term "fashionalista," said to be coined by designer Rhett Eala who first put the Philippine map on a Collezione t-shirt, has already made it to The New York Times, which describes it as "a term used in the Philippines to describe those who are both fashionable and nationalistic." But don’t get sucked into the world of wannabes who don the flag-bearing shirt just because they don't want to be left out of the trend--there’s a fine line that separates a fashionalista from a faddist, after all.
If you type "Pinoy shirts" on Google, you'll see a dizzying number of on-the-whim companies riding the pro-Pinoy wave. SPOT.ph surfed through dozens of these online shops and combed through retail stores, and narrowed down the choices to 20 brands worthy of fashionalista fame.
