Kobe Bryant in Manila as part of five-city Asia tour, will visit Gawad Kalinga
(SPOT.ph) Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Kobe Bryant arrived in Manila yesterday, July 12, for his five-city Nike Asia tour, reports ABS-CBN. According to Nike Philippines' Marketing Manager Mae Dichupa, Bryant always prioritized Manila because of the Pinoys' love for basketball. This is the third time Nike brought him to the country.
Bryant's itinerary for his one-day visit: a press conference at noon; a visit to Gawad Kalinga at 1:30 p.m. where he will dedicate a refurbished basketball court to underprivileged kids; and a meet and greet at 3 p.m. at Nike Park, The Fort.
At 5 p.m., Bryant will watch an exhibition game between Smart-Gilas Pilipinas and a UAAP-NCAA selection. He will then choose a player to undergo his trademark "Blackout" drill. Ateneo Blue Eagle Nico Salva was the chosen player in Bryant’s 2009 visit.
