2 Chinese mediamen deported and banned from PH after row with P-Noy’s in-law

(SPOT.ph) Two Chinese mediamen who were involved in a tiff with President Noynoy Aquino's brother-in-law, Eldon Cruz, have been deported and are now blacklisted from entering the country, reports ABS-CBN News.

The two were part of the Chinese contingent of a Department of Tourism-sponsored tour around Cebu. Last Saturday, July 23, the pair was described as "rowdy" while onboard a Cebu Pacific flight with Aquino's sister Ballsy Aquino-Cruz and her husband, Eldon. One of them later grabbed Eldon’s shirt collar after he tried to shush them for disturbing other passengers.

The two were immediately brought to the custody of the Chinese embassy. In an interview with ANC, Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim said the two have already written an apology to Eldon. Despite the tiff, the Cruz couple decided not to pursue charges. "We're trying to avoid a national incident... It was just misbehavior on the part of the Chinese nationals," said Lim who described the two as "overenthusiastic."

Palace officials also dismissed allegations that the incident was related to the country's spat with China over the Spratly Islands debate.
