Interaksyon.com, citing information from the Philippine National Police (PNP), reports that "an estimated P1.28 billion worth of illegal drugs were seized by authorities in a month-long operation last January."
The report noted that the biggest drug bust "involved the discovery and dismantling of a shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) laboratory in a Caloocan City warehouse, where police found 280 kilograms of shabu worth P1 billion."
The report quoted PNP chief Nicanor Bartolome, who said police have also arrested three Chinese drug dealers in San Juan City and confiscated from them 20 kilos of shabu worth P100 million. The report pointed out: "Authorities also destroyed marijuana plantations in Northern Luzon and arrested several suspected drug peddlers in various parts of the country."
