Manila Bulletin Online reports that "plans for the funeral services for Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio ’Iggy’ Arroyo remain unchanged, but the uncertainty over when the body will be shipped home threatens to throw the preparations into disarray."
Â
The report quoted, Atty. Irene Garcia, one of the lawyers for Aleli Morales-Arroyo, who said on Sunday, February 26: "(There’s" still nothing definite (about the repatriation). (The schedule is) constantly changing because it is taking too long for the funeral parlor to release the body."
Â
The report pointed out that Arroyo’s remains were scheduled to arrive from London last Friday, Fenruary 24. However, the repatriation was cancelled, and rescheduled for Tuesday, February 28. Neverthelesss, Garcia said that "the plans for the funeral wake that would last nine days have not been changed by members of the Arroyo's family in Manila, who are also expecting Tuesday as the day of arrival."
