Dead man’s lotto numbers hit jackpot, wife and niece get cash prize

ABS-CBNNews.com reports that, in lieu of an estate, a man left his wife and niece a number combination for the lotto. According to the report, the man succumbed to a lingering illness in December 2011. At his deathbed, he reportedly told his wife and niece that he wanted them to keep placing bets on his chosen numbers: 41-23-33-22-05-42.

The two women did as the dead man asked. Then, on March 3, they hit the jackpot prize of the 6/42 regular online lotto game. The report cited Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, who revealed that the 52-year-old widow and her niece each claimed P6,517,030 as their share of the P19,551,096 jackpot prize. The third winner was a vendor from Pasig City.
