Could This Be Where the First IKEA in the Philippines Will Open?

Is this the real deal?!!

(SPOT.ph) It was a little over a year ago when it was announced that Swedish furniture brand IKEA is finally coming to the Philippines. To say that everyone got super excited is an understatement—we even imagined all the things we would buy once IKEA Philippines finally opens its doors!

While people were thrilled about the news, there was little to no information about when or where it was going to open. We just knew that it had to be in a place with a lot of space and prayed to the furniture-store gods that they would open ASAP so we can finally get our own budget-friendly DIY furniture and indulge in their popular meatballs.

But today, a photo that seems to show where the first IKEA in the Philippines might open was floating around in our newsfeeds and it was enough to stir up excitement. This post by Pepper Teehankee suggests that this huge structure (in IKEA-blue, if we may add) could be the real deal and it's located in Cabuyao, Laguna.

What do you think, Spotters? Could this be the first IKEA Philippines?

UPDATE: August 31, 3:01 p.m.

Sorry, guys. Turns out, this isn't going to be IKEA Philippines. According to GMA News, the photo of the structure is actually one of Lazada's warehouses! On the plus side, you can score IKEA products on their website. But for now, we're keeping our eyes peeled for more news on the opening of IKEA Philippines. Back to regular programming!
