(SPOT.ph) If you're planning a trip to Japan, you most probably have a MUJI stopover in your itinerary. Our suggestion? Head over to their branch inside Aeon Mall in Sakai, Osaka—it's the largest in the world.
The 4,300-square meter store opened its doors in March 2018. While MUJI is widely known for their minimalist home items and their cool stationery section, it's their first time to venture into the world of food—and no, we're not talking about a larger snack section. We're talking about how about 50% off their biggest store in the world is dedicated to fresh meats, fish, fruits and vegetables, and other perishable goods.

Here's a virtual tour inside MUJI's largest store to date:

Kei Suzuki, the director and executive officer of Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd., tells Insider Retail Asia that they do have plans to roll out this MUJI concept store to other markets once everything is refined. "At first we have to see what is going to happen in Japan, but I believe the Muji customer … is keen to have a good fresh product,” Suzuki says.
Apart from MUJI's first-ever fresh department, the store also has a Cafe&Meal section, snacks, a bookstore, their home line, a stationery section, and fashion line. Check it out:

MUJI is at 1/F Aeon Mall Sakai Kitahanada, Sakai, Osaka.
