This Is Not a Drill: Don Quijote Might Be Coming to the Philippines

The Japanese discount store is practically legendary.

( If you've ever taken a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, you know a Japanese vacation isn't complete without a few key things: getting to play with some cool automated toilets, eating sushi until you get sick of it, and of course, taking a trip to the ubiquitous Don Quijote store, which has over 300 branches all over Japan. Anyone who's been inside knows that the store is kind of like a black hole—go in, and you'll have a hard time leaving after getting a taste of the seemingly infinite range of things you can buy. Whether you're itching to pay another visit to the gargantuan discount store, or you're still dreaming of your first trip to Japan, here's some good news: Don Quijote might be coming to the Philippines!

The Japanese discount store chain, popularly referred to as Donki, also has branches in Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. They opened a store in Bangkok in February 2019, and are looking to expand to other Asian countries including Taiwan, Malaysia, and yup, the Philippines, too!

No details have been shared yet about the location or opening date of Don Quijote in the Philippines, but we're already waiting in anticipation!
