Metro Manila Malls to Open After the Morning Rush Starting November 11

Not that the rush hour ever ends, but it's something.

(SPOT.ph) If you haven't at least started on your Christmas shopping, then now's the time to panic. Traffic is slowly closing in on all of us, and it certainly isn't going to make the annual holiday pilgrimage to the Metro's malls any easier. In a bid to help ease the usual work week congestion, mall operators all over Metro Manila have agreed to open at 11 a.m. on weekdays, starting November 11.

Malls will also be prohibited from holding the usual sales from Mondays to Fridays, so it's best to block out all your weekends if you want to save some money. These agreements come after talks with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on how the expected holiday rush can be somehow eased—no easy feat in a city that spends most of its time in malls.

Plus, delivery hours for malls might also be limited to between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to a report by GMA News. Fingers crossed this means people going to the office and people heading to the malls won't have to use our congested roads at the same time!
