A 108MP Camera, Space Zoom: All About the Samsung Galaxy Note 20

(SPOT.ph) It’s been the subject of plenty of leaks, and now it’s finally here—the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have finally launched and we probably don’t have to tell you that the specs are jaw-dropping.

Enabled for 5G, the phones are all equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor—the semiconductor company’s most advanced yet, primarily designed for gaming and at least 25% faster than the Note 10+’s Snapdragon 855.

The Galaxy Note 20 has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, a 12-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultrawide, and 64-megapixel telephoto camera, 30x zoom, and a 4,300mAh battery. It'll be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Gray, and Mystic Green. But it’s the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra that’s designed to wow, with a 6.9-inch Infinity-O Dynamic 1440p OLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate, a 108-megapixel camera sensor, 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and 50x Space Zoom—enabling the phone’s cameras to have a total combined optical and digital zoom of 50x. It has Pro Video mode with smooth zooming. It’s all powered by a 4,500mAh battery, and you can get it in Mystic Bronze, Mystic White, and Mystic Black, finished with glass to give it a smoother, glossier feel.

Both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will have the S Pen with Air View, Air Command, Smart Select, translation feature. Most importantly, it's been improved with AI-based point prediction: it has 9ms latency so it registers whatever your write or draw faster than it did with the Note 10.

The new Galaxy Tabs coming out are the 11-inch S7, and the 12.4-inch S7+, which also has 120Hz display for brighter, crisper images. Samsung touts the S7+ as the thinnest tablet of its size while letting you run three apps simultaneously on a splitscreen. It's also equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner, while the S7 has the scanner in its power button. Both Galaxy Tabs will come with an S Pen and have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, 6 or 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. Apps built in include Canva, Noteshelf, and Clip Studio. Both the S7 and the S7+ will be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black, or Mystic White.

Music lovers would be happy to know that Samsung also launched their wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Buds Live. With buds and a case made of recycled materials, the buds are designed for all-day comfort and active noise cancellation. They boast up to 6 hours of play time, with the charging case able to provide a total charge of up to 21 hours. Perhaps the most amazing thing about these earbuds? Two pairs can connect to a Galaxy gadget at the same time. They come in Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, and Mystic White.

The smartwatch comes with a rotating bezel that makes it easy to navigate apps, with a range of watch faces: users can have over 80,000 options. You can even customize your watch face's colors based on a photo in your gallery. We bet your mom would love that it can take your blood pressure, ECG, and blood oxygen level.

The launch's finale was the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which has a 6.2-inch full-cover display and inside, a 7.6-inch Infinity-O display with Ultra Thin Glass that's "thinner than a human hair." It's equipped with a 4,500mAh battery and comes in Mystic Black and, of course, Mystic Bronze. More details are to be revealed on September 1.

The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will be available for pre-order starting August 7 through Samsung Experience Stores and select Abenson and SM Appliance Stores. Customers who want to avail of the 5G variants can get them from Globe and Smart. Those who will pre-order the devices will be entitled to freebies worth up to P16,995.

The Galaxy Note 20 Series will be available at authorized Samsung stores and online partner merchants starting on August 21. Pricing starts at P53,990 for the Galaxy Note 20, P67,990 for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and P72,990 for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, the pre-order-exclusive model.
