(SPOT.ph) If you're a loyal customer of local brand Human Nature's beauty, self-care, and home-cleaning products, you might already know that the brand is dedicated to being as eco-friendly as possible. They use ingredients derived from nature and package various products in materials that contain no harmful chemicals and produce less waste and energy when made compared to most commercially manufactured plastics. Human Nature also has refilling stations where you can reuse your old bottles and fill them with new products. Their latest project is another step towards making the brand even better for the environment: The Balik Bote initiative allows you to return your empty bottle Human Nature bottles directly to their stores so that they can be recyled!

Human Nature partnered with cement supplier Holcim Philippines for this initiative. Holcim will use the plastic packaging that customers return as alternative fuel for manufacturing cement. All you have to do is drop by any Human Nature store in Metro Manila and turn over your empty, clean, and dry bottles for recycling. They’ll be delivered to Holcim’s plant in Bulacan and shredded by the company's partner waste management unit Geocycle. Once shredded, the materials will be used as fuel and raw materials for making cement.
By now, you've probably gone through bottle after bottle of Human Nature's various shampoos, soaps, cleaning products, and more. Now you can make sure that your used products don't go to waste. Plus, you can help the environment in your own little way!
Here's how you can return your Human Nature bottles for recycling:

According to Human Nature President Anna Meloto-Wilk, the brand has "been looking for a credible recycling partner for a long time who can help us manage our plastic waste and stay true to our commitment to steward the environment." She shares her hopes other brands also follow suit in the coming years and that they "likewise discover the benefits of extending our responsibility not just to the products that we make but also the waste we generate."
Human Nature is available online and at their stores nationwide. Note that the Balik Bote initiative is only available in Metro Manila branches.
