(SPOT.ph) Folks who are against fast-fashion and support sustainable initiatives often encourage people to shop clothing from local brands—not only does this boost and empower Filipino entrepreneurs, but it also prevents shoppers from contributing to large corporations that may not always have the best environmental practices. There's just one problem: Many small, homegrown fashion labels don't carry sizes for all people. But here's one looking to change that: From CEO of cult-favorite beauty brand Colourette Cosmetics Nina Ellaine Dizon-Cabrera comes Every Body, an inclusive clothing brand that carries 10 sizes from 2XS to 5XL.
Cabrera is known not just for her work in the beauty industry, but also for her outspoken online presence and close relationship to her audience. The CEO candidly shared online that she had gained weight over the pandemic and felt rejected by society. However, she then realized that she had the power to design clothing for those whose figures are not often seen on magazines, catalogs, and store displays.
Every Body began after Cabrera received a body-shaming comment one of her TikTok videos. From there, she decided to start a fashion brand designed to appeal to all body types thanks to their wide and inclusive size range. The brand is taking on this mission with swimwear first. Kicking off the launch is the Feeling Perky Bodysuit, which comes in three colors: a striking red known as Cherry, an elegant white dubbed Pearl, and a pastel rose shade called Sherb. The brand is set to soft-launch on December 15.
The Feeling Perky Bodysuit, made with a mix of nylon and spandex, offers a stretchy, body-hugging fit that can work for a variety of shapes and sizes. It also has a quick-dry, anti-wrinkle design for fuss-free wear at the beach or by the pool. Plus, though primarily a swimsuit, the piece can also be used as a no-frills top tucked into your favorite bottoms. According to Cabrera, Every Body seeks to make pieces that are built to last with both designs and materials made to stand the test of time.
