9 Golden Rules of SALE Shopping
Get the most bang out of your buck.
(SPOT.ph) When the word SALE gets splashed across shopping mall posters, do you suddenly feel the urge to chase down the nearest bargain deals? If you do, don’t be ashamed—malls sales make most of us lose all sense, too.
But if you want to get the most bang out of your buck, you're going to have to follow the golden rules of sale shopping. With SM Mall of Asia’s BIG! BIG! Sale happening from September 14-18, here are some tips to remember for the most awaited sale of the year:
Make a list.
Even if it’s just a mental one, and even if it’s really vague and general, a to-buy list will keep you focused when shopping and let you walk out SM Store without being weighed down by one-off items.
Budget your cash and your time.
Give yourself limits on how much money and how many hours you can spend shopping.
Ready your money.
That awesome bomber jacket you’ve been salivating over at Uniqlo might be gone by the time you’re through with the line at the ATM, so it’s best if you just arrive at the mall with cash in hand already.
Know your measurements.
Don’t waste your time or that of the long line of people behind you at the dressing room by trying on clothes that just won’t fit over that paunch you’ve been toting lately.
Don’t shop hungry.
Being hungry for good deals is one thing, but being hungry before a sale is a completely different story. Arrive early and try out some of the new restaurants that just opened in SM MOA, namely Ippudo, Tim Ho Wan, Botejyu, Tori Ichi, Morganfield's, Zark's Burgers, Llao Llao and Papermoon Cafe. Yum!
Check out what sort of items are going on sale before the big day. There’s nothing worse than elbowing your way through the crowd at a store only to find out that zebra-print pillowcase you wanted isn’t going on bargain.
Sale shopping is definitely not the time to strut around in outfits with a million layers or impossible to reach zippers. Wear comfy clothes that’s easy to slip off so you won’t have trouble trying out all those cute dresses at Forever 21.
Check for quality.
Always keep in mind that the items on sale might have been on the store for months. Don’t stress too much over small specks of dirt, but noticeable holes or cracks are deal breakers.
Take your time and be patient.
With over 800 stores going on sale from September 14 to 18 (that's five days of non-stop shopping!), you have more than enough time to land the bargain of your dreams. You can even do some early Christmas shopping if you wish!
Remember: The SM MOA BIG! BIG! Sale's mall hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the 14th and 15th, 9 a.m. to 12 midnight on the 16th, and 10 a.m. to 12 midnight on the 17th and 18th. Mark your calendars for the biggest sale of the year!
