Warrant of arrest issued for Baron Geisler, Yasmien Kurdi's lawyer urges him to turn himself in
A warrant of arrest for actor Baron Geisler was filed by the Municipal Trial Court (MTC) of Bocaue, Bulacan last April 28, reports PEP.ph. Geisler was charged with acts of lasciviousness and unjust vexation by actress Yasmien Kurdi after he allegedly made "lewd gestures" and "indecent proposals" while they were taping the television series Suspetsa last May 2009 in Bocaue, Bulacan.
According to GMAnews.TV, the warrant of arrest was issued because the "accused [Geisler] was not present in court for the second time."
"Nobody wanted to receive the subpoena at the ABS-CBN Talent Center [Star Magic] as Baron Geisler was no longer a talent of their studio," says Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Yasmien Kurdi's lawyer, citing Judge Lauro G. Bernardo.
In an interview last May 5 on Startalk, Geisler said he did attend the hearings, according to PEP.ph. "Um-attend po ako. Hindi nga po siya natuloy. I mean, tuloy po siya, pero, wala nga lang po ang judge."
The arrest order was released on May 5 but Topacio said they were only informed of it on June 2. Topacio appealed to police and concerned citizens to provide information on Geisler. Topacio said that they are willing to offer a reward of P50,000 for information leading to Geisler's arrest.
However, in a report by PEP.ph, Geisler's legal counsel, Atty. Bonifacio Alentajan told Startalk they they did not receive any subpoena. "Ang address na ginamit ni Baron diyan kapag nagsu-shooting siya ay ABS-CBN. E, hindi naman 'yan ang bahay ni Baron. Dapat kapag may mga notices sa isang litigan or kasama sa kaso ay kung saan ang kanyang residence address at hindi sa TV station."
