Three Filipino-American producers of God of Love celebrated the film’s Oscar win for Best Short Film (Live Action) yesterday in Los Angeles, reports GMA News.

Producers Stefanie Walmsley and Gigi Dement, and Marketing and Distribution Producer Stephen Dypiangco were "almost in tears" when God of Love was announced as the winner, beating four other nominees.

Los-Angeles-based Dypiangco, who was born to Filipino immigrant parents, said, "It felt amazing to hear God of Love called. I was on the verge of tears, so proud of our team and thankful for all the love of my wife, parents, family and friends."

After watching the Oscars ceremony at a friend’s house in La Canada Flintridge, he met with Dement and Walmsley at the Vanity Fair after-party at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

New-York-based Walmsley, who co-hosted Eat Bulaga in high school, filmed the party for her GMA-7 blog. "As Filipinos, storytelling is in our blood... At the end of the day, all I really want to do is help tell a truly fantastic story," GMA News quoted her as saying. She wore an emerald chiffon gown with an asymmetrical neckline by Martin Bautista, whom she met through real estate executive Divine Lee.

Meanwhile, Dement, who was born in Baguio, wore a one-shoulder beaded teal green and purple mermaid gown by Oliver Tolentino. The designer told GMA News, "I was inspired by old Hollywood glamour... Since Gigi has a lovely olive complexion, I chose teal green and purple beads. However, the colors are very subtle and you might not even see them in a photo. I added purple silk as an accent to soften the beaded look."

Tolentino also dressed Filipino-American artist Matthew Libatique, who was nominated for Best Cinematography for his work on Black Swan. "I created an Italian wool tuxedo with narrow peak labels in duchess satin. I created a gray vest and a traditional tie out of abaca so that he would take a little piece of the Philippines at the Oscars," GMA News quoted Tolentino.
