The stress that child stars face could lead to stunted growth, lower immunity, and other health problems, Rowena Joy Sanchez of the Manila Bulletin reports.

The report quotes Dr. Felizardo Gatcheco, MD, MSc as saying the conditions that child stars work in could lead to lack of sleep and binge eating. "Sometimes para silang mga call center agents na instead of being awake at daytime, dun sila [sa oras na ’yun] natutulog," Gatcheco says in the report. This puts them at risk of stunted growth and obesity, the report said.

Gatcheco was speaking at the press launch of a phramaceutical company’s campaign against growth stunting.
