DFA set to provide legal assistance to 3 Pinoys caught with 15 kilos of shabu in Indonesia

ABS-CBN News correspondent Zen Hernandez (via ABS-CBNNews.com) reports that on Wednesday, April 10, "the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that three Filipinos have been jailed in Indonesia after they were caught carrying 15 kilos of shabu upon arrival in Jakarta."

The report noted: "DFA Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Raul Hernandez said the three men, who came from Hong Kong as tourists, were each carrying 5 kilos of shabu with a street value of $2.1 million in milk containers. They were initially detained near the airport but will now be transferred to a jail in Jakarta. Hernandez said consular officers were already able to visit the three and found them in good condition."

 

The report revealed that "embassy officials will also ensure that they will be given sufficient legal representation."
