Manila Zoo increases entrance fee to from ₱40 to ₱100, promises visitors will see more animals soon
We hope this means animals get better care.
Erika Sauler of the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports that Manila Zoo has increased the entrance fee at the park for non-Manila residents from P40 to P100 starting Wednesday (January 15) due to the approval of the city's new revenue code.
According to the report, the admission fee for Manila residents also went up from P20 to P60. James Albert Dichaves, director of the Manila Parks and Recreation Bureau which supervises the zoo, said the public can soon expect a cleaner zoo with more attractions since officials have been negotiating to get more species of animals for the park.
Among the animals that Manila Zoo have been planning to obtain are 15 additional tigers, giraffes, as well a "white-handed gibbon (Hylobates lar) and a pair of vervet monkeys."
